چکیده

Fixed-beam, high-gain antenna systems can be used for a finer partitioning of the currently cell-sectoring. This has benefit reducing number users seen per beam, which reduces interference. Furthermore, high gain allows effective isotropic radiated power while keeping transmit low. In this paper, we study performance such fixed-beam, system design millimeter-wave mobile communications. The is designed to keep inter-sector interference in multi-site scenario analyzed single- and multi-user environments. single-input single-output mode, 50th percentile signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio lies between 12.5 dB 39.7 if 3 0 interferers are present, respectively. For multiple-input multiple-output transmission using zero-forcing, increases ranges from 36.1 43.3 interferes By maximum transmission, best achieved with no plunge observed interferers. revealed that narrow beam also provide clear signal separation small spatial separations. given example, larger than 32.1 11 active elements, where 2.8 meters separate users. Hence, paper shows cell-partitioning coverage desired area low, considered techniques situation optimized communication links.

Study of Realistic Antenna Patterns in 5G mmWave Cellular Scenarios

Large antenna arrays and millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequencies have been attracting growing attention as possible candidates to meet the high requirements of future 5G mobile networks. In view of the large path loss attenuation in these bands, beamforming techniques that create a beam in the direction of the user equipment are essential to perform the transmission. For this purpose, in this pape...

15: Optimal Scheduling for Underwater Communications in Multiple-user Scenarios

One of the long-term goals of this project is to analyze and propose energy-efficient communication techniques for underwater acoustic sensor networks. These techniques aim at consuming as less energy as possible as well as guaranteeing a minimum quality of service. In order to do so, we assume and validate some statistics of the underwater acoustic channels and derive stochastic optimal transm...

Miniature Multi-Element Antenna for Wireless Communications

We present a novel broad-band miniature antenna and employ it in a multi-element geometry with diversity capabilities for wireless communications. This antenna (diameter 0.2 and thickness 0.06 ) consists of two stacked circular patches that create two cylindrical slots resonating at two slightly different frequencies, fed by a strategically positioned coaxial probe. An extensive parametric stud...

Stochastic geometry modeling and performance evaluation of mmWave cellular communications

Abstract— In this paper, a new mathematical framework to the analysis of millimeter wave cellular networks is introduced. Its peculiarity lies in considering realistic path-loss and blockage models, which are derived from experimental data recently reported in the literature. The path-loss model accounts for different distributions for line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight propagation conditions ...
